VIRTUAL Adult Mental Health First Aid
Date(s) - 05/19/2021
8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Participants will be sent an online course code and access information for the scheduled zoom session approximately on week in advance of the course date.
The VIRTUAL Adult Mental Health First Aid course (2-hour self-paced, 4.5-hour online scheduled session) focuses on recognizing the patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and appearance that show there might be a mental health challenge rather than focusing on specific illness. Participants are taught an action plan they can apply to crisis and non-crisis scenarios.
VIRTUAL Adult Mental Health First Aid is a public education program. It teaches adults how to recognized the signs and symptoms that suggest a possible mental health problem or substance use challenge, how to listen non-judgmentally and give reassurance to a person experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge and how to refer the person to appropriate professional help and support services.
Mental Health First Aid is included on SAMHSA’s National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP).
This event is fully booked.
